Dates for 2021– Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay: Sat 27 & Sun 28 March 2021
Registrations will Open – Mid October 2020
At the June M2M Committee Meeting, our Treasurer, John Clue, reported that all refunds to participants via Team Captains had now been completed. This has been a huge task that has taken about 4 weeks to finalise and involved emailing each team captain, then organising the funds transfer process. Congratulations to Timboon Cruisers who were the last team to receive their refund and a special mention to the Hamilton Community House team who donated all their registrations fees to the M2M, especially given the current employment outlook.
A very big thankyou to all those participants who have donated their registration fees to the M2M as this now gives us a small working capital to go full steam ahead with next year’s event.
In addition, we received a large number of emails expressing appreciation and support to the M2M Committee for all their efforts in getting the 2020 event ready, but were not able to deliver to our very loyal and supportive teams.
Passing of a Member of the M2M Committee for many years:
It is with great sadness that we recognise the enthusiastic and dedicated work of Errol Carter who passed away recently in Port Fairy. Errol has been a fantastic supporter of the M2M for about 30 years, first in his role in assistant to Chief Motor Cycle Marshall Geoff Youl, and then by assuming the role himself for many years, organising and recruiting motorcycle enthusiasts to act as Marshals’ and by attending many committee meetings and offering is wealth of experience and knowledge. The Committee and everyone on the ride over many years will remember Errol stopping behind a team and offering friendly assistance and ensuring we keep safe on the roads. Errol is survived by his partner Kerryn and we pass on our best wishes to her and the family.
Large Bike Rack Available: Perfect for the M2M !
If you are a new or an old team and are looking to upgrade your M2M infrastructure – here we have a large (14 bike – 7 each side) bike rack that will fit into a 6 x 10 trailer. This rack has been used for 12 years on the M2M by a local team, who have now disbanded and we are offering it to anyone who can use it for the M2M in coming years.
The rack is very solid, no rust, but it will need some basic remedial work, painting etc, a local south west physiotherapist says it is well designed (engineered), great ergonomically and commercially made by RA Steel Fabricating.
If you or your team are interested, please E-mail the M2M and we will get back to you and arrange for you to have a look at it.
We wish thank all of our 2020 event sponsors for their support and generosity.
